Is 'Curb Appeal' Really That Important When Selling Your Home? Yes and Here's Why.

If you ask me "is curb appeal really that important?" I will answer you with a BIG YES!

“You never get a second chance to make a first impression”

Can you think of the first time you either shopped for or bought a home? Picture that moment. What was first noticed by you? Can you remember specific aspects of the appearance of the home, or it's specific landscape features? Did the color of the door attract you or was it the clean windows?

"Curb appeal", how your home looks from the curb, is a crucial aspect when you are selling your home. Here are a few reasons why.

Give A Strong First Impression

The first impression is always the best impression. In case your paint is fading away or your walls are chipped, or your siding has sustained substantial damage and your roof seems to be in disrepair, a potential buyer may not find your house attractive. If your weeds are growing and the walkway has garbage, they would assume that there may be several other issues with the place.

Note that your aim is to sell your home quickly and for a great price. When your home is in great shape externally, potential buyers will be interested in what it looks like inside.

Appeal To The Drive-By Buyers

It is important to note that many potential buyers do not prefer getting in touch with your real estate agent or attending your open house events. Instead, they may just drive past your home to see how the property looks and feels from the outside.  A few may even look into your backyard or look around the lot too. Note that it is important for your home to look like it is in peak condition once you put it on the market. In case your curb appeal declines, you will most likely lose out on a potential sale or end up selling for a lower price.

Set Your Home Apart From The Neighbors

It is also important to pay attention to your home's curb appeal due to contrast. Potential home buyers will essentially compare your house with others in your neighborhood. When your home looks the best on the block, or at least close to it, you will be able to sell it for a higher price.

I think we had a pretty clear idea of what we wanted in terms of the home itself, but Kevin has really helped to solidify how the process actually works like booking showings and helping us to see all of what is available within our budget. He has also helped us to see which preferences we really want and what we would be willing to go without What we really appreciate the most about working with Kevin is how personable and friendly he is. We also like that we aren't feeling rushed into anything. Kevin is very patient with our decision making process and respects our budget. I would tell anyone in Kamloops needing a Real Estate agent to go with Kevin Wood! So far the home buying process has been fun and not stressful at all.
